Mike Nicholls and Al Nunes left Breuner's and opened Thornton House in 1978. That first store was created in a small 4,000 sq. ft. showroom in Stockton on Thornton Rd. The store now occupies a 40,000 sq. ft building at the corner of Pine and School streets, in downtown Lodi.

This location in the beautifully revitalized downtown area, is both safe and convenient for easy shopping. Al, Kate and Mike have always known of this area's need for better quality and higher styled home furnishings.

Combine this quality with an insistence for superior service and you can see why Thornton House has survived while 55 other furniture stores have come and gone in this market over the last 22 years.
